“My Survey Solutions career started differently to most as I joined on the first day of a national Covid lockdown! My role was a brand-new position created to support the growth of the company with a complete focus on HR. Within a year I was promoted from HR Officer to HR Manager where I am responsible for planning and delivering our HR strategy and managing the HR Department.

“l have a BSc in Psychology and have achieved a Level 5 Diploma in Human Resource Management and am now an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD). I began this in 2019, and Survey Solutions has continued to support my professional development. Survey Solutions place a big focus on people’s professional development and training across the company. Recently, our HR Assistant has started their CIPD Level 3 Diploma in HR Support which is something they have always wanted to do, and it’s great to support people to further their careers.

“Every day is different which I love and makes the role very exciting. We always have a big focus on recruitment and talent planning, and I am responsible for ensuring we have the right people and talent in place at the right time to deliver our company goals, and who share our company values. Now I have been with the business almost 4 years, it’s great to see many people who we recruited as a Trainee flourish in their careers and who are now working as Surveyors and even Senior Surveyors in the company!

“l focus on making Survey Solutions a great place to work for everyone, and we have implemented lots of new benefits for staff, such as birthday boxes for all members of our team, increased holidays and flexible working hours. Recently, we have launched a new employee nomination and recognition scheme where our people can win prizes for nominating their colleagues for great work.

“l have a real passion about mental health and ensuring our people are always supported in the workplace. Our people have access to a company wellbeing scheme and benefits, this includes an Employee 24/7 Wellbeing Helpline, counselling paid by the company and fitness challenges.

“What I love most is working with different people across the business and the variety that brings. One day I have a meeting with the Senior Leadership Team, the next day I can be providing some HR advice to a line manager or working on an exciting new project. I also love interviewing people and get great job satisfaction from helping someone find their dream role.

“Working at Survey Solutions makes you feel valued for the work do. Not long after starting, I received a hamper of chocolates to say thank you and I’ve received messages from Senior Managers and Directors on my contribution which really gives a boost and makes you feel recognised for your contribution.”
