Land surveys to help drive Glasgow’s active travel revolution.

Survey Solutions has delivered land survey data at 12 different locations across Glasgow to support Mott MacDonald in identifying a series of active travel interventions. This is part of Glasgow City Council’s (GCC) Active Travel Strategy to improve accessibility across the City.

These active travel measures will transform areas throughout Glasgow by providing enhanced safe walking and cycling facilities, to support everyday journeys and local town centres. The proposed interventions are aimed at reducing car dependency and fostering community engagement, particularly among residents of underprivileged areas, by facilitating their access to the city’s social and economic opportunities.

The project deadlines were extremely tight but due to our office network across the UK we were able to co-ordinate seven teams from four different offices to ensure the work was completed on time. This approach allowed us to deliver the survey outputs incrementally as each of the 12 sites were surveyed meaning the design engineers could commence their design work, ensuring a streamlined workflow throughout the project lifecycle.
